I was born in Alger la Blanche — Algiers, the luminous capital of Algeria — a city immortalised in literature, opera, and cinema. Famously evoked in Albert Camus’s novel L’Étranger, celebrated in Gioachino Rossini’s opera An Italian in Algiers, and powerfully portrayed in Gillo Pontecorvo’s film The Battle of Algiers (La Bataille d’Alger).

I grew up between a Christian nursery school and a Quranic school, a duality that shaped my sensitivity to culture, contrast, and nuance from an early age.

At 24, after four intense years of study, I began my career as a news broadcast coordinator for Algerian TV. That path led me to collaborations with Eurovision and Arabvision, and eventually to a growing passion for film history and visual storytelling. I ran a cinema and poetry club in Algiers, wrote and edited documentaries, and worked on projects ranging from global conflict to disability rights.

After nearly a decade in Poland, I settled in Barcelona in 2001 — a city I first fell in love with while working at the 1992 Olympic Games. I later earned a Master's degree in Photojournalism and co-founded a casting studio that’s supported major Spanish film productions.

My work spans photography, documentary filmmaking, and audiovisual journalism across Spain, Ireland, Poland, and Algeria.

In 2023, the l'Alternativa Film Festival (CCCB Barcelona) featured two of my experimental short films — Barcelona, the Night Before and Waves of Silence.

Today, I continue to explore stories at the edge of memory, culture, and transformation blending journalism with poetic reflection, and image with silence.
